How to compare two aircraft

Choose an aircraft on each side, by model, or by a specific airline's version of it, since the same jet can be configured very differently between carriers. The maps render to the same scale, so differences you'd never spot in a spec table become obvious: a 2-3-2 cabin next to a 3-3-3, a 17.0″ seat next to an 18.5″ one.

Three things worth checking on every comparison: seats abreast (fewer middles wins for most travelers), seat width at the cushion, and where the best seats sit on each aircraft. Flying soon and not sure which aircraft you're on? Search your flight number

Looking for which seat is actually wider, side by side across airlines rather than aircraft? Our seat width comparison tool ranks every mapped seat by width. Seat width comparison tool

Comparison questions

How to read a comparison, what the numbers mean, and how to find your own aircraft.

Layout matters more than aircraft size: seven-abreast cabins like the 767-300ER (2-3-2) have one middle seat per row, while nine-abreast 777s and ten-abreast A380 main decks have three. Width and pitch are on every map, so compare your two exact aircraft above.
